Breaking Report: Notch Signaling

What's on my desk today? A new report from Saj et al. that combines results from a high-throughput cell-based RNAi screen with in vivo RNAi-based validation.

Saj A, Arziman Z, Stempfle D, van Belle W, Sauder U, Horn T, Dürrenberger M, Paro R, Boutros M, Merdes G. A combined ex vivo and in vivo RNAi screen for notch regulators in Drosophila reveals an extensive notch interaction network. Dev Cell. 2010 May 18;18(5):862-76. PubMed PMID: 20493818.

Breaking Reports: A small-scale and a genome-wide fly RNAi screen

What's on my desk to read today?

A small, focused Drosophila RNAi screen and another that went genome-wide.
Both papers are related to host cell-pathogen interactions.

Web Wednesday: DRSC Gene LookUp ReDesign

We've revamped and added information at our Gene Lookup results page.

Search with a fly gene symbol or other ID, and get a report of what dsRNA amplicons we have for the gene (and if they've hit in screens), what TRiP in vivo RNAi lines we have for the gene, and--scroll to the very bottom--a sense of whether or not the gene is expressed in various cell lines, based on analysis of results from the modENCODE group.

Please check it out! Feedback welcome.

Breaking News: NF-kappa-B Genome-wide Drosophila cell RNAi screen

What's on my desk to read today? A report of a genome-wide fly RNAi screen designed to query the NF kappa B pathway. Includes follow-up studies in zebrafish using morpholinos to knock down gene function in that organism.
